Meet Gill Kerchhoff

"To move mindfully is my wish for everyone I work with, building the ability to move through each day with presence and ease."

Gill's focus is on how pilates can help regulate the central nervous system, reducing stress and promoting relaxation and an improved mood.

 

Gill started practising pilates with well known Cape Town Stott method teacher Patricia Lamond more than twenty years ago and pursued training with Pat at Stellenbosch University soon thereafter, becoming certified in matwork in 2004. She has continued to do training in teaching with small props (balls, circles, therabands etc), the Reformer, Wunda chair as well as exploring the Franklin method, breathwork, and more.

 

Living in Riebeek West at the time, Gill ran a small studio there until moving back to Cape Town in 2010 where she attended classes at the Wynberg Pilates Studio and kept a small home practice going in Rondebosch. In 2020, she joined the Wynberg Pilates Studion as a teacher.

Gill's Skills & Experience

  • Group Pilates Mat Classes, particularly beginners, using a variety of small props

  • Individual, Duet and Group Pilates Reformer Sessions

  • Individual sessions tailored to clients' specific requirements

As a retiree, I would have loved a morning class/ses. But Gill is so great, so I won't change to another studio.
